What is the fire retardant reflective tape?

Flame retardant reflective tape is composed of high-performance reflective micro beads or micro prismatic coatings bonded to flame retardant cotton, 100% aramid cloth or flame retardant polyester backing. Combining the dual functions of flame retardant and reflective, it is widely used in safety protective clothing, fire suits and other clothing and equipment that require flame retardant properties.

We offer four types of flame retardant reflective tape to our customers: one is made of 100% cotton, two is made of aramid, three is made of aramid webbing, and one is made of acrylic webbing.

Certifications for FR Reflective Tape

Certified by UL, ANSI/ISEA to comply with EN 20471, NFPA 2112, Oeko Tex 100, etc.

The reflectivity is above 450 cd/(lx.m²) and meets all international standards, passing abrasion resistance, bending, temperature changes and washing tests. According to ISO 6330, the reflective tape can withstand 25-100 washes at 60°C and 10-50 dry cleanings according to ISO 3175.

Importance of firefighter reflective tape to firefighter

The FR reflective tapes on firefighter protective clothing retain an important safety role in allowing firefighters to be seen and recognized in emergencies.

Flame retardant performance

Quickly extinguishes itself after the fire source leaves, avoiding the spread of the fire. This flame retardant effect mainly depends on its base material (such as aramid, flame retardant polyester) or surface treatment process, which usually undergoes strict flame retardant testing and certification.

High reflective performance

Through reflective coating materials (such as glass beads or microprisms), flame retardant reflective tape can reflect light back to the light source when exposed to light, improving visibility in dark or low-light environments. The reflective coefficient generally reaches 450cd/(lx·m²) or higher to meet the reflective requirements of industry standards.

Durability

Flame retardant reflective tape usually has strong wear resistance and washability, and can withstand industrial washing or dry cleaning. Common standards include ISO 6330, ISO 3175, etc., and are suitable for frequent use.
